Tourism in the Pre-Carpathian region. Results of the year.

At a meeting of the Tourist Board of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, held in December 2017, it was noted that the tourist industry of Prykarpattya exceeded the plan for deducting from the budget.

Maria Savka, the deputy head of the regional state administration, emphasized that the creation of a tourist council is relevant and expedient for the Carpathian region, since according to the Strategy for the development of Ivano-Frankivsk region for the period up to 2020 the tourist-recreational sphere is one of the priority.

“We have high expectations that this step will intensify the dialogue between the authorities, business and the public sector in order to develop tourism in the Carpathian region,” said M. Savka.

It should be noted that the tourist council of the Ivano-Frankivsk region is a permanent advisory body created in the management of international cooperation, European integration, tourism and investment. The composition of the council is formed from representatives of enterprises, institutions, organizations related to tourism, resorts, cross-border cooperation.

The purpose of the tourist council’s activity is to coordinate the interaction between all the participants in the tourist market of Ivano-Frankivsk region; development of public-private partnership in the field of tourism, attraction of investments and cross-border cooperation; joint representation of tourism potential and investment projects of the Carpathian region on the regional, national and international markets through presentations, participation in exhibitions, conferences, congresses, etc.

In 2017 Ivano-Frankivsk region was visited by more than 2.2 million tourists and tourists. The tourist fee for 2016 amounted to UAH 2.3 million, and in 2017 – UAH 3 million. This is 128% of the annual figure of last year.

In 2017, 569 million hryvnias were directed to repair roads from state and local budgets. Improved railway connections between Ivano-Frankivsk region and other regions of the country, renewed rolling stock of interregional and regional trains, new trains were assigned from Konstantinovka, Odesa, and Kharkiv.

Every year, at the expense of the regional tourism development program, the development of recreational areas is organized, tourist information stands are established. Ivano-Frankivsk region – the land for tourism was completed, in particular, the construction of visiting centers in Galich and village was completed. Iltsi Verkhovinsky district.

Within the framework of public-private partnership between the regional state administration and representatives of the tourist business, active work is underway to promote the natural and cultural authentication of the region.
